Ben the bodyguard is a site geared towards iphone users who wish to keep their information safe if/when someone steals their phone. It uses parallax scrolling to animate the illustrations and the storyline. The top part of the website (which when you click scroll to top from the bottom, is not included in the scroll to point) is a strange video, giving a little more context to the site. There is no traditional navigation whatsoever, so you just keep scrolling down and the character gives you the pitch, different scenarios, and then finally we reach access points for the inside pages. I really enjoyed the narrative being so dark and scary, hinting at secrets you’d like to keep in your phone like murder, kinky photos, illegal street art, extramarital affairs, etc. It also doesn’t hurt that the illustrations were dead on and the parallax action really caused me to forget about traditional navigation altogether. I’m not saying I’m interested in buying their product, but I definitely am digging their website.
